GROWING UP

I grew up on a farm. My Dad, uncles and cousins did too. For as
long as I can remember, each winter we would butcher our own
meat. My Dad has continued this tradition with us. It probably
sounds unusual, but I have rarely had to buy beef in the grocery.
As a matter of fact I don’t like too. I know what it should look like
just try to find the cuts in a grocery.
So my husband and I spent last Saturday working along side my
family. My youngest niece is only four, she wasn’t too sure about
the meat thing. But her sisters six and nine jumped right in and
were really good help. I’m now usually in charge of packaging. I
don’t know how that happened over the years, but it is my
favorite job. We’ve even expanded to the vacuum sealing a couple
of years ago.
We made up 480 hamburgers. Needless to say, I haven’t eaten any beef
this week.

I’m finally finished with all the overtime, now it’s catch up time!
I’ve let things go that I wouldn’t normally. This weekend I should
have some progress on it all. That and I’m going to try to have
time to sew. I started a project in December that I haven’t been
able to touch yet in January! It’s a jacket and I’m to the zipper.
Zippers are not my favorite things to do.

I’ve visited a very few blogs lately, but without time to comment.
I’m planning on catching up on that this weekend too!

It’s FRIDAY!

WARNING.. chance of a Tornado, 59F
Today I woke up to a Tornado Warning.. in January! We
have crazy weather. I’m going to get dressed and go for
a walk. I’ve worked the last couple of days and since I’m
lucky enough to have today off.. it’s goof off time! Well,
that and catch up. I start working extra hours this Thurs
and it won’t end until next Wed. I feel I should rest, but
probably won't. There are things I must get done.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It a bright and sunny morning, expected high today to 50!
I had a scare this morning… I turned on my laptop and it
had a black screen. Not normal. But one click of a button
and all is well, why did this happen. You guess. I’m not
geekish enough to know.
